More on Fredricksburg

Tuesday March 12... A "do nothing at all" day today.  Bright and sunny... low 70s.  Long walk with Cody and reading.  Carol just now left the site for the first time (4:45 pm) to join the circle of old timers sitting across the way... about 14 of them.  I would have little to add even if I could hear something so I'll mind the dogs and RV.

I did talk with one fellow this morning.  He recommends "Rio Raft" RV which is near Canyon Lake... It looks nice on the web but says "no pets" during the summer season. ??

We have enjoyed the lack of something that needs doing and look forward to more tomorrow; although we do have a trip into Dripping Springs planned to buy some of Carol's favorite Peach Salsa.  It is great on baked potatoes.

She contributes the following on the subject of Fredricksburg...

One of Carol's favorite cities is Fredericksburg, Tx, not for the shopping or wine but for the beautiful limestone buildings. With the gorgeous architectural buildings like the old medical hospital which now houses the kitchen wares shop. The old bank that houses a real estate office. Our first visit to Fredericksburg was in 2005 and the town has worked to preserve the Main Street buildings that now sell upscale wares. It's hard to believe that the yellow soil can grow peaches. The wineries have taken bloom: Fiesta Winery, Woodrose Winery, Becker Vineyards, Messina Hof, Grape Creek, Chisholmrail Winery, Pedernales Cellars, William Chris, Hilmy Cellars, Rancho Ponte, Four Point Cellars, Texas Hills Vineyard...  anyway that will get you started if that is your thing to do!
